The Callan School Guarantee

The Callan School gives every student a legally-valid written guarantee that it will get him to the level of (and through) the Cambridge exams in a quarter of the time taken by any other school in London, or through any other exam at the same level. And if he fails the exams, it will give him free lessons until he is successful. It has a 95% pass rate for such exams.

It allows the student a week of Trial Lessons (except in July and August), which are given free if he decides not to enrol.

The student pays for his lessons weekly in arrears (+20% of fees) and on results, and does not pay if he is not satisfied.

He is guaranteed to reach a certain level in a certain number of lessons, and does not pay for more lessons than he is guaranteed. And he can monitor his own progress.

If he pays in advance (for a discount) and it is found at the end of his studies that he has not reached his guaranteed level, the School refunds him the relevant part of his fees. For example, if he has been guaranteed to reach page 500 of the Method in 100 lessons and has reached only page 480, which is 4% short of his target, he will have 4% of his fees refunded to him.

As the Callan School guarantee is unique, the student must beware of guarantees that some schools give out which appear to be similar to the Callan guarantee. A school of this type does not guarantee to actually "teach" the student English, but only to get him through the Cambridge exams if he passes the school's entrance test to show that he is already capable of passing such exams. If he does not pass this Test, he is not given a guarantee. In addition to this, he has to take a three-month course at the school. Any school anywhere in the world could give such a guarantee - it is virtually worthless. The Callan School, on the other hand, automatically guarantees success in the Cambridge exams to every student (even a complete beginner) no matter what his level or capabilities are at the time of enrolling at the School.

The Callan School offers the student £1000 if he can find any school in London not using the Callan Method that gives the same kind of guarantee as that given by the Callan School.
